Dryer faults we see in Nowra
Most dryer calls in Nowra are for one of two things: a drum that turns but gives no heat, or a drum that will not turn at all. The first is the element, a thermal cut-out or a thermostat. The second is a broken belt, a seized roller or the motor. The vans carry belts, rollers and the common thermostats, so many repairs are done on the first visit.
If your dryer is mounted high on the laundry wall, leave the repair to us rather than taking it down yourself. Wall-mounted dryers are heavier than they look.
Lint and airflow
Clean the lint filter every load. When lint builds up past the filter, it chokes the airflow and trips the thermal cut-out, and in the worst case it can catch fire. On a condenser or heat pump dryer, there is usually a second filter or condenser to clean as well.
Heat pump dryers
More Nowra households are buying heat pump dryers because they cost less to run. They dry at a lower temperature, so a longer cycle is normal. A cycle that keeps getting longer, or clothes that come out damp, usually means the lint filter and the second filter or condenser need cleaning. If both are clean and it still struggles, a sensor, the fan or the sealed heat pump system may be at fault, and the technician will tell you which and what it costs before going further.
