We will tell you what is wrong straight up and provide you with a quote for the repair. If you accept the quote we will fix it on the spot if possible, otherwise our office will quote your on a repair.

Appliance repairs in Wollongong and the Illawarra
Wollongong Service Company repairs domestic appliances across the Illawarra and South Coast, and has done since the 1980s. We are family-owned, we come to you, and we work on all the major brands whether the appliance is in warranty or long out of it.
The assessment fee is fixed and you know it before we arrive: $125 across the Illawarra and $145 further out on the South Coast. That covers a technician attending and diagnosing the fault properly. You get the repair price before any work starts, and stopping at the assessment is fine. Every completed repair carries our warranty, and we take Afterpay if you would rather spread a larger bill.
What appliances do you repair?
Kitchen and laundry appliances, domestic only. We do not take on commercial kitchen equipment.
- Washing machines and dryers, top loaders, front loaders, vented, condenser and heat pump.
- Ovens and stoves and cooktops, including ceramic, induction and gas.
- Dishwashers, freestanding and integrated.
- Fridges and freezers, including frost-free and chest models.
- Rangehoods and microwaves.
Most of what we attend comes down to a handful of faults per appliance, and a good share of those are one part rather than a new machine. If a repair is not worth the money, the technician will say so at the assessment instead of quoting you for it.
Which brands do you repair, and are you an authorised repairer?
We repair all the major brands, including Bosch, Westinghouse, Fisher & Paykel, Samsung, LG, Asko, AEG, Electrolux, Beko, Smeg and Blanco.
We are an independent family-owned repairer, not any manufacturer’s authorised service agent. That distinction only matters while an appliance is still inside its manufacturer warranty, because repairs generally have to go through the authorised channel or you risk losing the cover. If yours is still covered we will tell you to ring the manufacturer rather than take the job.
Once the warranty has run out, you are free to use whoever you like and there is nothing left to void. What authorised appliance repair actually means sets out how warranties and your consumer guarantees differ, since the guarantee often outlasts the printed warranty.
Where do you come?
Helensburgh in the north, down through Wollongong, Fairy Meadow and Dapto, past Shellharbour and Kiama, and on to Nowra and the South Coast. The technician comes to you, so the appliance stays where it is.
Same-day service is often possible when a technician is already working nearby, and fridges and freezers with food in them get priority, so say so when you book. Ring 02 4229 3777 or book a repair online with the brand, the model number and what the appliance is actually doing. That is what lets the technician bring the likely part instead of ordering it after the visit.

What does a callout cost?

Cash and the major credit cards. Our technicians carry mobile payment terminals, so you can settle on the spot rather than waiting on an invoice. We also take Afterpay if you would rather spread a larger repair.
Which suburbs do you cover?
The coast from Helensburgh in the north, through Wollongong, Dapto and Shellharbour, down to Nowra and the Shoalhaven. The $125 assessment fee applies across the Illawarra and $145 further out on the South Coast. Every suburb we cover is listed here.
Do you come to me, or do I bring the appliance in?
We come to you. Almost everything gets repaired in your kitchen or laundry, because pulling a machine out and carting it to a workshop usually costs more than the repair saves. The exceptions are small benchtop appliances and the occasional job that needs the bench. If you ring early enough in the day there is a fair chance we are there the same day.

Either way, have the model number handy — it is on the door rim of a washer or dishwasher, and behind the drawer or on the door frame of an oven. With the model number and any error code we can often turn up with the part already on the van.
