Dishwashers in Shell Cove and the village
Shell Cove kitchens are mostly recent, and a lot of them have integrated dishwashers and DishDrawers built into the joinery. Around the village and Warilla, freestanding machines under the bench are more common. We work on both without pulling the cabinetry apart.
The faults that bring us out are a machine that will not drain, one that stops with an error code, a door that will not latch and a load that comes out cold and dirty. Most of these are a single part: the drain pump, a fill valve, the latch, or the heating element and its thermostat.
Water on the floor
A leak from a dishwasher usually starts small: a drip from the door corner, a damp kickboard or a warped bit of floor in front of the machine. The cause is often a worn door seal, a loose hose clamp or a cracked sump. Turn off the tap that feeds it and keep the machine off until it has been looked at. Built-in machines in newer kitchens sit over timber floors and joinery, and a slow leak can do more damage to those than to the dishwasher itself.
A quick check before booking
Take out the filter in the base and rinse it, and clear the sump below it. Check the spray arms turn freely and their holes are clear. That fixes a fair share of poor cleaning complaints. If it does not, the assessment is $125 in Shellharbour, with the repair quoted before any work.
