Big loads, big wear
Dapto has a lot of families, and family washers are worked hard: school uniforms, sports gear and bedding, often a load or two a day. That wear shows first in the parts that move. Drum bearings start to roar on the spin cycle, suspension dampers let the drum knock against the cabinet, and door boot seals split where the drum rubs them.
A loud spin is worth booking before it gets worse. If the bearings are caught early, the repair is simpler, and the drum is less likely to damage the tub. Overloading speeds all of this up, so if the drum is packed tight, split the load.
Top loaders and front loaders
Older homes near the town centre still have a lot of top loaders, and newer homes mostly have large front loaders. We repair both on every major brand. On a top loader the common faults are the lid switch, the drive belt or coupling, and the pump. On a front loader they are the drain pump, the door lock and the inlet valves.
A wash that comes out soaking
When clothes come out dripping, the machine has not drained or has not spun, and the two usually go together. Most washers will not spin while water is still in the drum. On a front loader, check the drain filter behind the flap at the bottom of the front panel. On a top loader, check the drain hose is not kinked behind the machine or pushed too far down the standpipe. If both are fine, the pump or the pressure switch is likely, and the technician can test both on the spot.
Booking
The assessment is $125 for Dapto and the surrounding streets, including Horsley and Koonawarra. Have the model number ready when you call, and say whether the machine is a top or front loader.
