Coalcliff is where coal was first found in Australia, back in 1797, and the village that later grew around the Coalcliff Jetty Mine still carries that history in its old miners' cottages. Today it is a small huddle of homes above a beach and rock pool, joined to Clifton by the Sea Cliff Bridge. Most sit within a stone's throw of Lawrence Hargrave Drive, which is the only road in and out. A few sharp new builds have gone up among the cottages, but most of what we service here is older stock that has weathered a lot of salt.
Where the coast shows up in your appliances
The rangehood over a coastal cooktop takes a beating. Grease from cooking traps salt and moisture, and the metal grille and the fan behind it corrode and clog until the extraction barely pulls. Take the filters out and soak them in hot soapy water every few weeks and the motor lasts a good deal longer.
A garage or verandah fridge is close to standard in Coalcliff, and this near the surf the condenser coils are the weak point. Coils furred with salt and dust make the compressor run hot and constant, and a fridge that never cycles off is a fridge on borrowed time. Vacuum them twice a year and you take real load off the motor.
If your cooktop is playing up, the fault is usually a specific one, a failed element or a cracked igniter, not the whole unit. On a gas cooktop a clean of the burner ports and a look at the igniter leads often brings it back to life. That is worth knowing before anyone talks you into a full replacement.

So I contacted this company and the very next day someone came out and found the problem with my machine. So a part had to be ordered and within a short period of time my machine was fixed. This company is excellent to deal with and the repairer (Jye) was so nice and respectful of my house.
